KERRY FORD, MSW
Growing up in Sioux Falls gave me a valuable background in humanitarian ethics and a genuine belief in the value and dignity of others. I received an Associate's Degree from Waldorf College (Forest City, IA), my Bachelor's Degree from Augustana College (Sioux Falls, SD), and my Master's Degree in Social Work from St. Louis University (St. Louis, MO). I have worked in several different states as a Medical Social Worker, Child Services Social Worker, School Social Worker, and a small business owner. I am licensed as a graduate level Social Worker in South Dakota and Minnesota, and I am certified in Gerontology and Hypnotherapy.
My training emphasizes Systems Theory, which recognizes the contribution of all persons in individual's life, and how those connections are affected by life issues. I enjoy working with individuals, groups, children, adolescents and families. I have education and experience in traditional therapies and especially Art Therapy, and Hypnotherapy from a spiritual perspective. The benefits of these therapies for the client include stress management techniques, controlling or energizing feelings, developing study skills, changing unwanted habits or enhancing good potential, and more. There are many paths to spiritual guidance and grace, building on the potential we have all been blessed with. Grace gives us the freedom to heal and grow in a non-judgmental manner.
