JODI MERRITT, MA
I am proud to be a member of the Stronghold team and believe in its mission to help others achieve positive changes in their lives through grace.
I have worked for the past 13+ years in the addiction field. Much of my time has been spent working with adolescents with addiction issues in an outpatient program, conducting chemical dependency assessments and counseling those who have experienced trouble in their life related to their substance use. I have also worked with adults in a pain management clinic setting and have worked to reintegrate prison inmates into community addiction services. My passion is working with people who want to experience change, whether it be family functioning, anxiety, trauma, relationships or addiction. I am excited to work with people of all ages, from children through adult.
I am a Sioux Falls native and have strong ties to the community and to community resources. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor - Mental Health, Licensed Addiction Counselor, National Certified Counselor and am certified in Life Space Crisis Intervention. I received my undergraduate degree from the University of South Dakota in Psychology and Alcohol and Drug Studies. I also received my master’s degree from USD in Counseling & Psychology in Education, with an emphasis in clinical mental health counseling.
I have had the opportunity to experience the grace that comes with continuing to work towards my full potential, with supportive and encouraging people around me. I love being a part of that support and encouragement for others who are working towards their full potential.
