AMANDA BRIGGS, MSW
Let me introduce myself as a counselor with Stronghold Counseling Services. I am very grateful for the opportunity to do this work God has planned for me, and for the direction He has given my life.
I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from the University of South Dakota, and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Denver. I am also licensed in South Dakota as a social worker of private or independent practice. My professional experiences have further guided my training. I worked three years in residential treatment facilities, where I worked with adolescents struggling with emotional, behavioral, and adjustment issues. I then spent five years conducting assessments and working with families regarding child abuse and neglect. Through these experiences I gained knowledge and skill regarding family dynamics, trauma, and the needs individuals and families have in their recovery from abuse.
As a therapist I have experience and training working with individuals regarding child abuse, depression, anxiety, teen pregnancy, grief and loss. It is my goal to help you work through the issues that trouble you so that you may learn to manage your stress or anxiety, cope with losses you have experienced, overcome past traumas, and enhance self esteem. I will provide you a safe place to find healing, and I will help guide you through your struggles so that you may come to experience God’s grace, acceptance, and peace.
If there is any way in which I can be of assistance to you or someone you know, please call me at Stronghold Counseling Services at 605.334.7713 I look forward to working with you and helping you work to improve your current situation to achieve your highest level of functioning.
